There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look.  For example, I’m sitting here thinking of how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt. –Author Unknown

Ann Voskamp wonders, “How do we find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama, and daily duties?”  Then a friend challenged Ann to write a list of a thousand things she loved.  Not of gifts she wanted, but of gifts she already had.  So Ann started her list.  Some of the items on her list are:

  • A letter in the mail box
  • Jam piled high on toast
  • Wool sweaters with turtle-neck collars
  • Laughter at twilight

Ann Voskamp’s book, 1000 Gifts, invites you and me to wake up to God’s everyday blessings.  Ann also writes about everyday wonder at A Holy Experience.

Could I, could you, write a list of a thousand things you love?  Let’s began a list.  Not of gifts we want, but of gifts we already have if we just slow down and catch God in the moment.
