My new hero is Orion Jean, an amazing young man who calls himself an “Ambassador of Kindness.” Why is he so amazing? Well, he jumps in wherever he sees a need. It all began when he was nine and won the “Think Kindness National Kindness Speech Contest.” He used the prize money to begin his first race, “The Race to 500 Toys,” where with the help of his community, he was able to collect over 600 toys for Children’s Health Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

His other amazing accomplishments include collecting more than 100,000 meals for food-insecure families across the country and collecting and donating over 500,000 books to children.
Now Orion is sixteen and his current project is called “Race to 1 Million Acts of Kindness.” You can participate by visiting the Race to Kindness website. Please help Orion reach his goal.
Orion is also the author of Race to Kindness, a book for young children that shows how even the youngest among us can show kindness to friends, neighbors and families.

Orion Jean is a wonderful role model—showing us that we can all make a difference with kindness. What if becoming a kindness ambassador simply means looking for opportunities to show kindness every day? As he writes in his book, “Just take action, one step—big or small. ONE SMALL STEP is better than nothing at all.”
What small act will you take today to be kind?
God Bless.
