We have all known loss. The grief we’ve felt in the midst of our pain has perhaps seemed overwhelming.
The most severe grief I have known, lasted for about two years. During that time, I struggled with depression, guilt, anger, resentment and even physical distress.
I remember feeling so validated when I learned those feelings were to be expected. They were part of my healing journey. Knowing my emotions helped me to face what I had lost in a healthy way. Today, I have more kindness and understanding for the friends around me who are in a season of grief.
