Dear Karen,
This is really more about YOUR story than mine. Shortly after receiving your book The Compassionate Congregation, a friend of mine lost her husband to suicide. I went to the chapter on “Suicide”. My boss helped me arrange time off work to move into her house for 5 days. Because I know the 5 children very well, it was very comfortable for me to be there to organize meals, take calls, clothes-shop and be my friend’s attendant throughout the visitation and funeral. The “family/friends dinner” served as a good time to get the floral gifts ready for distribution. Your book actually empowered me to try to think about things that could remove burdens from this dear family. Thank you so much for caring about the wounded. Yes, I’m one of your biggest fans! God uses the wisdom from your tender heart to minister to many broken hearts.
