“Sally, are you ok?”
Several years ago I took a class on healing and the pastor said, “If unexpectedly a person’s name or face comes into your thoughts. Respond with a phone call or a visit because God may be nudging you to care for that person.
Several months ago, quite suddenly Sally came into my mind one morning. I have known Sally for a long time, and I like and respect her; however, we are not close friends, but there she was in my thoughts, and I remembered the advice of that pastor –contact that person. On the following Sunday, I saw Sally at church and said to her, “Sally are you ok? You have been in my thoughts lately.’ She responded, “I’m not doing so well right now. So thanks for asking.” Right then was not the time for a meaningful conversation, but I did call her the next week. And we have continued to talk either by telephone (when I am in Florida or in person when I am home in Michigan.) She says that those conversations have been a real blessing to her, and I say I definitely have been blessed by knowing Sally.
So when someone comes unexpectedly into your mind, pay attention because it may be God nudging you to care for that person.
