“I felt so broken, so filthy, so worthless.  I felt like I had lost all value and all reason to keep on living.”  Elizabeth Smart

As you may recall, Elizabeth Smart was fourteen years old when she was taken from her home in the middle of the night by religious fanatic Brian Mitchell.  For nine months, she was kept chained, repeatedly raped and told she and her family would be killed if she tried to escape.  In her book, My Story, Elizabeth tells how she was able to survive her brutal captivity and her secret to forging a new life since her rescue.

I am wondering if Elizabeth’s book might help some of you who are suffering.  Maybe you are in a horrific situation, or grieving, or consumed with loneliness and discouraged.  I pray that Elizabeth’s words will help you on your journey to health and wholeness.

You can read more about Elizabeth’s story in her new book, My Storyor find information about Elizabeth on the internet.
