How can we care for our President?

We can pray.

When is the last time I prayed for our President?  My answer:  I can’t remember.  Paul urges us in 1Timothy 2:1-2 to pray for our king (the equivalent today is our President).

I often receive emails “bashing” (criticizing, defaming, hating or violently attaching) our President.  I wonder what positive purpose is accomplished by these attacks.  I can’t help also wonder if praying for our President would be more productive.

What do I say if I want to pray for the President?  Upon what issues do I focus my prayer?  This online resource answered those questions for me:  30 Ways to Pray for Those in Authority.  My plan is to reflect on two of the suggestions and then while picturing the President be in prayer.  Today’s suggested way to pray was:  Pray that the President recognizes his own inadequacy and will pray and seek the will of God.  (Proverbs 3:5-8, Luke11:9-13).

Pray with me for our President.  God bless.
