WISDOM

Here is a special memory I have about one of my Mother’s Day gifts.

My daughter was three years old, and my husband had been traveling a lot so he didn’t have much time to get me a Mother’s Day gift. So on Mother’s Day he sneaked out while I was working and took my daughter to Hobby Lobby.  They bought wooden, unpainted butterflies and paints.  Then at home they had fun decorating the butterflies.

It was such a special surprise! My husband used his gift of creativity to not only bless me, but to make a special memory with his daughter. These butterflies now hang in my daughter’s bedroom, and she proudly shows them to anyone who comes into her room.

So dads, when you are helping your children find ways to honor their mother, use your creativity or areas which interest you. Try planting flowers or a tree, washing and waxing mom’s car, or making her breakfast in bed.  For more ideas of items to make for mom, go to:  25  Homemade Mother’s Day Gifts That Kids Can Make and Mother’s Day Gifts Children Can Make  on Pinterest.

Please send me your suggestions.
